ARTIST OF "STOP TELLING WOMEN TO SMILE" POSTERS
Many women can empathize with the daily street hollering of being told to "smile." If you have experienced such unsolicited comments, you have either ignored such comments or thrown back a witty retort. Artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, took matters into her own hand, creating a artistic campaign that aimed to challenge this very culture that seems to be almost taken for granted as the norm. Tatyana's work can be found displayed on the streets of Oakland, Atlanta, and Brooklyn. The reactions are not necessarily surprising! Our host Talia Taylor gets to the heart of the issue; what lies behinds those comments and where to go from here.
