Lita Styles Debuts New (and First) Single With Houston Collective, Milky Wayv

Some of the best music recommendations have come from friends, serendipity, and people who just drop me a line. The collective/label MilkyWayv, is one of those beloved sources of great music recommendation. This time, they introduced me to Lita Styles, an emerging alternative R&B artist from Houston, who was also recently featured in MUD magazine. This week, she released her very first single under the Milky Wayv label called "Outerspace" and it's pretty great. Its off-kilter tempo gently floats you through a topic of an off-world romance.

"The track, produced by Bobby Earth, begins with a danceable, electric, drum groove throwing back to the Mary Jane Girls' classic "All Night Long", followed by a vocal sample from Groove Theory's "Tell Me" juxtaposed with jazz-fusion-inspired chords. The song is a charismatic ballad about space travel and an intergalactic connection to a special someone. Think Janet Jackson meets N*E*R*D."
