It's all in the details: The Dream World of Anwar Bey Taylor
Artists like Anwar do not live in the same time and space as the rest of us. They walk the line between the futuristic and the contemporary, between realism and fantasy. All the while, Anwar is producing work that defies both elements, allowing them to coincide in the same universe. As a video game designer, Anwar is used to working in this oxymoron, and finding the strange and the beautiful for his audience. His work resembles creatures carved from clay and bronze, perhaps frozen in time until their final episode. His past work, though uniform, adapts to contemporary notions of what video game characters should look like. With an incredible eye for detail, Anwar has become adept at good character development, creating identities that move beyond stereotype. As he moves into the freelance world, he is taking what he has learned from his past work, creating pieces that are deeper, futuristic, and personal. We look forward to his future projects.
